Art Details
A quiet pastoral piece for the rooms where life is lived most personally. Psalm 23—Green Pastures was made for reading nooks, bedsides, guest rooms, prayer corners, entryways, and hallway gallery walls, and pairs naturally with minimalist, farmhouse, classic, Restoration Hardware, and contemporary interiors. The warm olive and sepia palette is the reason this piece is so often chosen for bedrooms and quiet spaces dedicated to rest and reflection. It carries faith gently and serves as one of Christian Modern's most-given sympathy and comfort pieces, the painting people reach for in seasons of grief, illness, hospital stays, and searching.

About Psalm 23 — The Shepherd's Psalm
Psalm 23 is a psalm of David and the most-read Psalm in the Bible. It opens with "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want" and moves through green pastures, still waters, the restored soul, the valley of the shadow of death, the rod and staff, the table prepared in the presence of enemies, and the promise that goodness and mercy will follow all the days of one's life. Often called the Shepherd's Psalm or the 23rd Psalm, it is read at baptisms, weddings, and funerals, recited in Jewish and Christian liturgies for both celebration and mourning, and held close in seasons of grief, illness, and searching. The Hebrew word translated "shepherd" is ro'eh, meaning one who feeds, guides, and stands watch, the same image Jesus claims in John 10:11 when He says "I am the Good Shepherd." Psalm 23—Green Pastures captures verses 2 and 3 of the Psalm: the flock at rest in a warm pastoral landscape beside quiet waters.
