Sizing to the wall
Above a sofa or a bed, span about two thirds the width of the furniture. An 84 inch sofa takes a 60x40 canvas. A 72 inch sofa takes 48x32. A console or dresser takes 30x20.
Hang the center around 57 to 60 inches from the floor, and leave 6 to 10 inches of clear wall between the frame and the furniture below it.
